Pop! Goes the blog cherry

My first blog, a.k.a. pointless verbiage demonstrating my short attention span.

I'm writing this exciting, first entry instead of starting my paper. Surprise, surprise.
I turn 20 tomorrow and after 20 years inhabiting this Earth, I still have not learned to manage my time well enough. I have accomplished so much in the field of procrastination over these two decades; gold medal please?

*Pat myself on the back* for not being in the Sproul t.v. lounge right now watching the Olympics as I have done since the games began. The Olympics are horrible for my self-esteem. So many of these athletes are my age, younger, older, and they might as well be superheroes.

Today, I went through 1/4 of the Costco, Y2K-sized bag of bagel chips, had a lovely birthday dinner just with the parents, packed, then drove back to LA in Toyota Matrix for the first time--I will have to get used to this car because it's "cheap enough for me to scratch up" as my dad put it. The sadness/logic behind how I drive deserves its very own post.

I don't want to be too Debbie Downer, though. Obviously I'm not ashamed or regretful of my life thus far because I know I've turned out to be a good enough person and I owe so much of that to my parents and my whopping 11 wonderful, wholesome years at St. Mark's. I just wish I were a little more certain about what the heck I'm doing with my life.

I look foward to my little birthday dinner tomorrow night, just eating a good meal with some friends. I guess that phrase "twenty something" can start applying to me now. Sadly, I'm no longer a teenager and can't really make excuses for any stupid things I may do. My international roommate from Taiwan (whom I can carry on a conversation with because she is in advanced English!) congratulated me and told me how surprised she was that I'm only 20, that I seem so much more mature for my age. I seem mature?! Yesss, I was cheering inside! Not to worry. The child in me will never die. If I had my ideal birthday hoopla, I would've celebrated at Chuck E' Cheese, "When I say 'happy' you say 'birthday' " song and all.

I don't know where I was going with this. I am now officially distracted because I realize that I'm hungry. Maybe blogging is not good for me. This is actual brain vomit that enlightens no one.

Oh, how perfect. The Ryan is hungry and has suggested to walk to Ralph's in 30 minutes, yes, 1 in the a.m., for some Easy Mac. This relieves the pressure of having to figure out where my blog was going.

I sign off!
ttfn!
